The Planning & Development Department is responsible for planning, building codes and inspections, code enforcement, temporary use permits, historic preservation, and partnerships with several community partners.

We are seeking qualified candidates for our Code Enforcement Officer position. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience as a code enforcement officer for a municipal jurisdiction, or an equivalent combination of education and training.
Candidates should have strong organizational and communication skills with experience in community relations. Have the knowledge and ability to perform field inspections of properties to ensure compliance with zoning codes and ordinances. Learn, interpret and apply local codes, laws and regulations. Perform research and data collection activities. Operate modern office and computer equipment. Understand and interpret appropriate legal descriptions. Communicate clearly and concisely with tact and diplomacy both orally and in writing. Maintain a professional demeanor in difficult situations. Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Salary range $34,000 - $42,000 DOQ, plus full benefits package including membership in a well-funded pension plan.
