Starting salary is $45,000 POST certified and applicants may be considered for step-pay plan credit for previous years of applicable experience. To be successful in this position, you must be able to use independent judgment in complex emergency situations & become proficient w/applicable local, state & federal law. Minimum requirements include 60 hours college credit, or 2 years as a full time Class “A” sworn police officer, or 2 years active service as a member of the US armed forces. If no longer active duty, must have had an honorable discharge, and U.S. citizenship. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older at time of hire, pass required testing & extensive background investigation, be available to work shifts, weekends & holidays. Per department policy no illegal drug use within the past twenty-four (24) months prior to application. Tattoos are not allowed on the hands, neck or face at any time. All other tattoos are subject to review. Lateral applicants are encouraged to apply. Full training will be provided to successful candidates.
